mdi.fd_V_bin2x2_30s

Description

Doppler velocity from 30-second observations in full-disc mode, sampled at seconds 00 and 30 and binned 2*2 on the camera. Although 30-second observations are sometimes acquired at second 30 during campaigns, binned observations are not made at second 00 during normal operations. However, unbinned full-disc 30-sec Dopplergrams acquired as part of the normal sequence have been binned down to correspond to the data for the lower half of the minute when these data exist. This series is only populated during minutes in which binned full-disc Doppler data were acquired second 30 and either binned or unbinned full-disc Doppler data were acquired at second 00.

There are two records per minute during hours when there are any images, to assure continuity of certain ancillary data. Records for which there is no image (fill records) have the high-order bit of the QUALITY keyvalue set, and have DATAVALS = 0. Approximately 10% of the records are fill.

Special Notes

Some hours containing only data on a 60-second cadence were erroneously included in the population of this series. This includes the data for the following hours:

With the exception of the data acquired in the intervals 1997.12.11 07:00:00–07:38:30 and 1997.12.16 15:14:00–15:53:30, these data were always acquired in conjunction with data from the series fd_Ic_bin2x2_30s.

There are some times when relevant data were not processed through to the final observable product. For example. there are 1189 hours with data in series sha.dsds[mdi][lev1.4][fd_V_bin2x2_30s_01h], but only 1162 hours with data in series sha.dsds[mdi][lev1.5][fd_V_bin2x2_30s_01h]. There are 1414 hours with data from the parent level 0 series sha.dsds[mdi][lev0][424807e0_01h] (and 1433 hours with data in the supplementary reconstructed series sha.dsds[mdi][lev0][424207e0_01h]). These include all of the times when there are records in fd_Ic_bin2x2_30s but not in this series.
