mdi.focus

Description

Intensity of individual filtergrams taken at the 0-tuning position, nominally furthest from line center, in both full-disk and high-resolution mode (determined by the value of key ITYPE) and in linear polarization at a variety of focus positions (given by the values of keys MDI_CAL1 and MDI_CAL2, or FOCUSTP). The data are acquired as part of regular calibration sequences in order to ascertain the best focus settings to use for regular observations. Each focus sweep consists of 10 filtergrams taken at ~2-second intervals, and four focus sweeps are typically taken in successive minutes as part of the calibration sequence. These calibration sequences were run approximately monthly.
