Description

These are calibration data in which filtergrams at each of several different tuning positions taken in quick succession over short time spans are available. The filtergrams are in image mode (at different focus settings, given by the keyword FOCUSTP and/or the combination of MDI_CAL1 and MDI_CAL2) and have been binned 4*4 on the camera, to a size of 128*128. The are taken in different polarizations (given by the keyword DPAW). The individual filtergram target tuning positions for the two Michelson interferometers are given by the keywords and TRG_MTM1 and TRG_MTM2, representing the offsets in mÅ from the five nominal filtergram wavelengths F1–4, FC.

The data were acquired as part of special calibration sequences run on the following dates:

Special Notes

No metadata required for the WCS keywords are present in the original data. They may be estimated from the WCS information for full-disc data at nearby times, e.g. mdi.fd_V or appropriately scaled mdi.vw_V.

The instrument configuration parameter values (MDI_*, TRG_*, etc.) are missing for the 170 data records acquired 2006.07.28–31 and 2007.03.22
