Description

Doppler velocity from either 30-second or 60-second observations in full-disc mode, sampled once per minute at second 00 and gaussian-smoothed and cropped into a 192*192 pixel grid. Some of the data are smopothed and cropped on-board, and some are constructed from available full-disc Diopplergrams on the ground. The data are part of the MDI Structure Program, and are intended to be continuous throughout the mission. All of the data are acquired in linear polarization.

There is one record per minute throughout most of the mission, to assure continuity of certain ancillary data. This includes the two periods of extended loss of contact (1998.06.25 &ndash 10.19 and 1998.12.22 &ndash 1999.02.02), for which however there is no useful information, even spacecraft ephemeris. Records for which there is no image (fill records) have the high-order bit of the QUALITY keyvalue set, and have DATAVALS = 0. Approximately 6% of the records are fill.
