# This procedure places the MDI instrument into a powered safe mode
# The DEP sequencer wiill be halted, the limb tracker placed into
# openloop mode and the front door closed.  The initial mode may be
# SLEEP, STANDBY, READY or IMAGING and the final mode will be SAFE.
