MDI Commissioning Phase Block 2

Title: MDI Switch-on and Functional Tests

Objective: Power up to safe mode and verify MDI functionality

Outcome: MDI in Safe Mode, MDI functionally validated first with door closed, then again with sunlight after opening the front door; bake-outs completed, CCD, Optics Package and filter oven temperatures within limits.

Procedures:

1. 2.1 Subsystem Switch-on and Initial Commissioning
   • m_ipon - switch on Image Processor
   • m_cmon - switch on CCD Camera
   • m_mchson - switch on internal mechanisms
   • m_lton - switch on limb tracker (ISS)
   • m_hopspt - set optics package heaters
   • m_ccdspt - set CCD heaters
   • m_ovenspt - set prime oven temperature
   • m_depchk - DEP checkout
   • m_mchschk - internal mechanisms checkout
   • m_obsmode - set internal mechanism positions
   • m_tap - set of initial image to check VC
   • m_pict - set of full resolution images
   • m_ipchk - Image Processor checkout

   • doipchk - perform IP verification test suite

   • shuttest - perform shutter test
5. 2.5 First Images with Sunlight
   • m_fdopen1 - open MDI front door
   • m_pict - set of full resolution images
6. 2.6 Internal Alignment
   • m_amon - power up alignment mechanism
7. 2.7 ISS & Michelson Tests
8. 2.8 Functional Tests in Sunlight
9. 2.9 Time Series
