Attached are the MDI recovery procedures from the Leonids safing.
I have run these control files on the simulator, and they have
functioned correctly to the limits of the simulator (there being no
door mechanisms on the simulator).

The control files listed below can be found in the /mdisw/cfl/flight/src
directory on mdicmd and mdisas. They should be checkpointed and compiled,
and the safing instance updated.

Procedures for Recovery of the MDI Instrument

The MDI recovery procedures are similar to the final steps of the
recent MDI power up, except that they will all be performed via NRT
commanding.  It is expected that the instrument recovery activities
upto opening the front door will take less than two hours.  After the
door is opened, four hours of VC2 telemetry are required to perform the
front window focus tests.

The following sequence of MDI control file procedures will power up the
CCD camera, Optics Package mechanisms and the Image Stabilization System.

	Record the MDI bus A current

	exec q_fl_cmon_v02

	Verify that the CCD camera is powered on.

	exec q_fl_mchson_v02

	Verify that the shutter, MTM, CAL and PAW mechanisms are powered on.

	exec q_fl_lton_v01

	Verify that ISS is powered on.

	Record the MDI bus A current

	exec q_fl_htr_config_v01
	  Adjust heater setpoint to "63"

	Verify that hopspt is set to 63, and heaters 2 & 3 are powered off.

After the MDI subsystems are verified to be in an acceptable state, the
standard observing sequence will be started while the front door is still
closed.

A focus test sequence will be run while the front door is opening
and the front window temperature is changing.

	  Set the campaign index to cam_focus_2

	Verify that high rate data is being received 
	  with  dpc: 404fc001 fd_hr_focus	

The procedure to open the front door is:

	exec q_fl_fd_open_v01

	The door switch status is checked before and after issuing the
	door open command. If a check fails, the procedure will halt.
	The procedure should not be restarted without clearly
	understanding the check failure.

	Verify that the front door is open and door power is off.

About 1 to 2 hours after the front door is open and the initial front window 
temperature change is slowing down, the ISS error signals can be nulled
and the loop locked.

	Select "NULL/LOCK ISS"

Continue the focus_2 test until the end of contact (can be in VC3). Set
the chain list for cam_focus30 plus the campaign of the day (one possibility
is mag_movies2).
