			HOW TO FTP DATA ANONYMOUSLY
			---------------------------

- How to put data into the anonymous directory

  Go to the ftp/pub directory (/md80/people/ftp/pub):
        cd ~ftp/pub

  Copy the file:
        cp /mdisw/filename filename

  Change the permissions to make it world accessible:
        chmod oug+wrx filename


- How to get the file as an outside user

  ftp mdisas.nascom.nasa.gov

  login as anonymous, with your username@yourmachine as password

  cd pub

  [Default for transfer from mdisas is binary. May need to type: ascii 
  to get an ascii file from a non-UNIX machine. Not sure.]
 
  get filename

  quit
