In the original disseration, Figures 5.5, 5.7, and 5.9 mistakenly had the line styles
interchanged for the two low-resolution analyses.  The figures have been corrected and 
two words have been changed in the text, in the second sentence of the second full 
paragraph on page 110.  These changes have been annotated in a footnote.
