The Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer (UVCS) in the Coronagraph Calibration Laboratory at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in July 1995 during the end to end test and instrument calibration activity. UVCS consists of an externally and internally occulted telescope assembly and a spectrometer assembly. The two high resolution spectroscopic channels observe a 40 arcminute strip of the extended corona at heliographic heights from 1.2 to 10 solar radii. The visible polarimeter channel observes a single 15 x 15 arcsecond spatial element over the same range of heights. (see Kohl et al., 1995, Solar Physics, 162, 313)
