On 16 January 1997, UVCS/SOHO observed the planet Jupiter, which
was reaching its quasi-yearly opposition with the line between
the Earth and the Sun.  This image shows the H I Lyman alpha
emission of Jupiter in the extended solar corona.  Jupiter was
also observed with the UVCS White Light Channel and used as one
of several in-flight photometric calibration transfer standards.
