Composite image of the solar corona from EIT/SOHO and LASCO/SOHO. The EIT image is in the 171 Angstrom radiation; observations were taken on March 8, 1998. The physical conditions of an equatorial and a mid-latitude streamer, at 1.1 and ~1.6 solar radii, have been derived from coordinated observations of CDS/SOHO and UVCS/SOHO. Superimposed on the image are the UVCS slit positions, indicated by thin, long rectangles, and the CDS raster positions, indicated by the small rectangles located near the limb of the Sun. Abundances, temperatures, and densities for these streamers are shown in the following figures.
