The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft in launch configuration prior to acoustic tests in Toulouse, France in early 1995. The Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer (UVCS) instrument is the large gold cylinder in the front. SOHO was launched on December 2, 1995 and has observed the Sun nearly continuously since that time.
