MDI First Light.

This is the first-light image obtained by MDI from space. It was taken at 17:49 UT on 19 December 1995. It is a 1024*1024 full-disc filtergram. The misalignment is about what is expected due to flexing of the spacecraft structure which had been previously aligned under Earth gravity. This image has been specially scaled to account for underexposure and a CCD chip which was being exposed to light for the first time in two months.
