Technical Summary:
We apply the techniques of time-distance helioseismology to probe wave speed inhomogeneities in the solar convection zone. Temporal crosscorrelations between the acoustic signals at different points on the solar surface are used to measure the time for waves to traverse the subsurface ray paths connecting the points. Measurement of variations in the time for points separated by the same angular distance will be inverted to yield three-dimensional information on the wave speed in the solar interior.
