Crucial to the efforts are sensitive and stable determinations of mode frequencies and splittings. Further, it is vital to have reliable estimates of errors (and error bars on the errors) in such frequency data, and an understanding of how errors propagate and develop within the full observing and analysis system. Computing requirements for inversions involving very large mode sets may be problematic.
