Large Line profiles and time behavior of solar p-modes

The Fourier Power Averaging (FPA) technique will be applied to the study
of
p-mode line profiles to determine frequencies, amplitudes, and rotation
splittings. Analysis of temporal changes of the detailed spectral profiles
will show how the amplitudes vary and help reveal the characteristics of
excitation and damping of individual modes, both in the mean sense and as
caused by solar features and events. Results will be compared with those
of
other experiments, such as GOLF, IRIS, VIRGO, and GONG. Implications for
solar
structure models will be considered.
