Technical Summary:

The first X-class flare in four years occured on 9 July 1996. This flare reached its maximum at 0911 UT and was located in Region 7978 (Dryer et al., 1997). During this flare we observed by our radiospectrograph very unique 1-4 GHz radio burst which was followed by the type II radio burst (flare shock). We want to study the origin of this high-frequency radio burst. For this reason we are interested with the corresponding magnetic field data (MDI data).
