Giant Cell Search

Technical Summary:

Giant Convective Cells have been predicted as the largest scale of solar convection. These cells have a predicted depth on the scale of the depth of the convection zone, with horizontal extent an order of magnatude larger than that of supergranules. Previous searches have found an upper limit of the strength of the giant cells around 10 m/s. Thus is is neccessary to have high quality, continuous doppler images to detect and study these features.
