SOI Data Programs - prog:lowl
The data in this program are derived from datasets imported from the
Low-l instrument operated on Mauna Loa by the
High Altitude Observatory.
These data belong to Steve Tomczyk. Permission to use them must be granted

Available Processing Levels
For a general description of processing levels within the SOI database,
see the SOI Datasets description.
- lev1i:
the Dopplergrams as provided by HAO
(FITS files, one per image).
Associated Data Series: daily.
- lev1.5:
Level 1 datasets associated with ancillary data required
for Level 2 processing.
Associated Data Series: hourly.
- sht:
Spherical-harmonic transform coefficients of Level-1 data.
Associated Data Series: 12-hour, annual.
Available Data Series
- daily:
There is a single series, named lowl,
containing all Dopplergrams obtained with the instrument.
Within the series, observations made on each calendar day
at the observatory are collected into a data set numbered
YYYYMMDD,
e.g. lowl[19930330], lowl[19930331], lowl[19930401], etc..
Each complete Level 1 data set should
normally contain roughly 500 images, depending on the length of the
observing day.
- hourly:
There is a single series, named lowl_v,
containing all Dopplergrams obtained with the instrument.
Within the series, observations made in each clock hour
at the observatory are collected into a data set numbered
sequentially from the hour beginning at 0 = 1994.02.25_18:24:42_UT.
Each complete data set should contain 60 images.
- Ylm:
There are multiple series, named
v_pox_lmin-lmax_length,
containing spherical harmonic transform coefficients with the
designated range of l from lmin through lmax
over a time interval length.
Within each series, data sets are numbered
sequentially from the corresponding interval beginning at
0 = 1994.02.25_18:52:42_UT.
