SOI Image Atlas - prog:mdi_eof

The SOI online image atlas is provided for purposes of quality assessment of newly received data from MDI. Because of the substantial data storage requirements, the atlas provides images for only the most recent month's data, in a rotating buffer indexed by the day of the month. For example, the entry labeled 10 in the list below will usually contain images from the 10th of the current or previous month. Because these images are used as part of an active quality assessment program, the images for any given day may occasionally represent data from an earlier month. It is also possible that no atlas pages may be available for certain days. Within each day the data are organized by MDI Data Product Code (DPC) for low-rate (5 kbps) data and subdivided by hour and DPC for high-rate (160 kbps) data, so that each page corresponds to a SOI Dataset.

The data in this program are derived from observations made with the Michelson Doppler Imager, as captured by the MDI Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), a workstation at the SOHO Experiment Operations Facility (EOF). They are available for quick-look and preliminary data analysis and planning purposes but should not be considered definitive. The images displayed are from the level 0 data, i.e. uncalibrated. The scalings and color tables are chosen arbitrarily to best reveal features characteristic of individual data products.
