SOI Data Sets
prog:mdi_ground,series:oct*
The data in these series are derived from test observations made with the
Michelson Doppler Imager operating at Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratories
between 19 Oct 1993 and 7 Nov 1993. The data sets run from oct500 through
oct617, but not all have been ingested into the SOI DSDS.
These data are provided strictly for purposes of instrument analysis,
testing and software development. In the unlikely event of their suitability
for scientific analysis, such use must be approved by the SOI project.
Available Processing Levels
For a general description of processing levels within the SOI database,
see the SOI Datasets description.
- raw: In some cases, these are the raw telemetry files as captured
by the instrument simulator operating software. In other cases they are
raw files captured from the instrument or the camera directly by the
support computers.
- level0: As part of the level-0 processing, ``atlas'' pages have
been prepared for each data set. These pages are PostScript files available
on line showing each image in the series in a postage stamp format; they can
be viewed by selecting the appropriate option.
- level1: Virtually none of the ground data have been formally
calibrated.
