CLRGROUP(1)

NAME

     clrgroup, soigroup - set the group ownership of a file.

SYNOPSIS

     clrgroup pathname...

     soigroup pathname...

DESCRIPTION

     These two functions allow users to set the  group  ownership
     of  the  file(s) or directories described by pathname to the
     groups ``none'' (clrgroup)  or  ``SOI''  (soigroup).   Users
     must  own the files, but need not be members of these groups
     to use these functions.  In fact, the  expectation  is  that
     there  are  no members of the group ``none''.  Setting group
     ownership to ``none'' by default for directories is  a  con-
     venience designed to encourage use of the default umask 002.

BUGS

     Gives error messages when used over a mount with proper per-
     missions,  but  seems  to  perform normally despite the mes-
     sages.
